2018 Bluefield Blues Festival Featuring

The Carpenter Ants

The Carpenter Ants

Having logged more than 3,000 performances and through its close  association with NPR’s internationally syndicated show “Mountain Stage,”  the Carpenter Ants have amassed fans that include famed  singer/songwriter/producer Don Dixon - who produced the Ants’ last four  releases - and the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Jackson enlisted the band for a  barnstorming, 8-city tour prior to the 2004 presidential election, a  Labor Day rally that drew 75,000 people, and a march in Atlanta that  featured Stevie Wonder. Recently Dobro master Jerry Douglas heard tracks  from the band’s new release “Ants & Uncles” and offered to lay down  some lap steel on the rave-up gospel track “He Saved My Soul.”

The Dennis McClung Blues Band

The Dennis McClung Blues band is about playing music with Passion and having fun while we're doing it!  DMBB cuts through the genre clutter like a hot knife through butter.  Combining powerfully poignant blues and razor-honed guitar with driving  cool passion!
